Admittedly, I wasn’t sober when I watched “All Good Things”, but I gave it my full attention and I just love it. It’s a tragic movie, but I adore any movie that really stretches to show instead of tell. I love that the audience has to put together what it is that Ryan Gosling’s character’s family business is. I love that what little exposition there was didn’t feel forced or unnatural. Honestly, what little telling there was, I think could’ve either been rewritten to tell less. It was a very solid script.
Rylan Gosling’s character range of transformation is incredible. He starts out as a typical Hollywood hearthrob, relatable and likeable. As an audience member I felt like I understood the character and I loved watching him slip into maddness, as hard as it was to see a character I love contort into the monster Gosling’s character became.
